Does the ADA name a web test?

No. The law names no test, so WCAG has become the yardstick used in practice. We test against WCAG and frame findings for ADA risk.

We sell only in India. Does the ADA matter?

It matters when Americans use or buy your product. Legal calls stay with your counsel; our reports give them the evidence.

Which WCAG version should we test against for ADA compliance?

The Department of Justice rule for state and local government names WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Everywhere else the law names no version, so buyers and settlements usually ask for WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Content that conforms to WCAG 2.2 also conforms to 2.1, so testing against 2.2 covers both. We name the version in every report.

What does an ADA compliance audit cost?

We quote after scoping, because the price follows how much product there is and how many platforms it runs on. Start with the free one-page audit: we test one page by hand, send the findings, and send a proposed scope you are free to take elsewhere.

ADA compliance for a website

What the work looks like once a date is attached to it.

Website ADA compliance is not a state you reach once. It is a scope, a set of criteria and a date, held together by a way of testing that can be repeated. The practical sequence is in website ADA compliance, in order of work, and the background is in ADA compliance, explained.

An ADA compliance audit is the evidence step: a scope in writing, a manual pass with real assistive technology, every finding tied to a WCAG criterion, and a retest once the fixes ship. Our accessibility audit and testing service is that work, and the ADA compliance checker is a free first pass over one page of markup.

Claims and lawsuits are the other side of the same coin. Most web accessibility lawsuits in the United States are brought under Title III in a federal court, and they usually arrive with a demand to put things right on a short clock. The dated material, with its sources, sits on accessibility news, so that no page carries a deadline that has since moved.

What an audit has to contain

  • A scope in writing, naming the pages, flows, apps and documents tested, and what was left out of them.
  • The criterion for every finding, with its level, so your counsel can weigh each one rather than the whole pile.
  • Steps to reproduce and a fix, so your developers can see the barrier instead of taking our word for it.
  • A retest, which is the only part that turns a list of findings into a change of state.
